Let Gemini Do the Work

Chapter 3 of 5

Two Steps. That's It.

You've got your meeting in words. Here's the whole move:

The move

1. Paste your transcript (or notes) into the Gemini box.

2. Above or below what you pasted, type the prompt on the next screen — then press Enter.

Paste, prompt, Enter. Gemini reads the whole thing and hands you a summary in seconds.

The Prompt That Does It All

This is the one to memorize — or just copy off your cheat sheet at the end. Type it right along with your pasted meeting:

Copy this into Gemini Summarize this meeting. List the action items as a checklist, and note who is responsible for each. Keep it short.

Look at what each piece is doing, because that's how you'll write your own later:

  • Summarize this meeting — gives you the short “what happened” at the top.
  • List the action items as a checklist — pulls out the to-dos as tidy boxes you can tick off.
  • note who is responsible for each — this is the golden part. It puts a name on every task.
  • Keep it short — stops it from writing you a novel.
Skits the Handyman
Skits' Tip

Gemini figures out who owns what from the conversation itself — “Maria, can you handle the flyer?” becomes “Flyer — Maria.” If a task never got a name in the meeting, Gemini will usually say so, which is handy: it tells you what still needs an owner.

Didn't Come Out Quite Right? Just Ask Again.

This is the part people miss. You're having a conversation. If the first answer isn't perfect, you don't start over — you just tell Gemini what to change, in plain English, and it redoes it. Type any of these right into the same chat:

  • Make it shorter. — trims it down to the essentials.
  • Group the action items by person. — reorganizes so everyone sees their own list.
  • Flag anything that sounds overdue or urgent. — pulls the time-sensitive items to your attention.
  • Add a one-line summary at the top I can paste into an email. — gives you a ready-to-send opener.
  • You missed the budget discussion — add that. — yes, you can just correct it like a coworker.
If it's not right, you don't redo it.
You just ask for the change.

Quick Check — Find the Magic Words

Here's the prompt again, broken into pieces. Click the part that makes Gemini put a name on every task — the reason you end up knowing who is responsible.

Click the phrase that assigns an owner to each action item:
Summarize this meeting. List the action items as a checklist, and note who is responsible for each. Keep it short.

Gemini did the heavy lifting. Now you finish it.

You've got the one prompt that summarizes, checklists, and assigns owners, plus the follow-ups to fine-tune it. Last teaching chapter: a quick once-over, fixing anything Gemini got slightly wrong, and getting it out the door to your team.
