Most Winchester offices don't have a Microsoft 365 problem. They have a “nobody ever set it up properly” problem. The licences got bought, email got moved over one weekend, and everything since has been improvised. Files live in one person's OneDrive. Two people share a login. Nobody's quite sure who has admin. It works, right up until somebody leaves or a laptop dies. Getting it set up correctly is not a big project — it is a few hours of doing it in the right order, once.
Setup and migration as a project, or ongoing support as part of a managed plan.
Moving mailboxes from an old host, a POP account, or Google Workspace into Microsoft 365. Planned before anything moves — mailbox sizes, aliases, forwards, and the DNS cutover. Mail keeps flowing during the move, and the old mailboxes stay put until you've confirmed everything arrived.
Users, licences, groups, and admin roles set up so they still make sense in two years. Includes turning on multi-factor authentication, which is the single change that stops the most account takeovers.
The shared drive the business owns, separated from the files that belong to a person. Set this boundary up front and the company keeps its files when somebody leaves. Skip it and last year's contract is on a laptop nobody can get into.
Shared calendars that everyone can actually see, shared mailboxes for info@ and billing@, and the room and resource booking most offices never switch on.
Multi-factor authentication, conditional access, password policy, and a clear answer to who has administrator rights. We help you get the policy in place — you stay in control of your accounts and your data.
For tenants that grew by accident. Licences still assigned to people who left, files stranded in personal OneDrive, no MFA, unknown admins. A review and a clean-up, not a rebuild.
Specific situations, not abstract cloud strategy.
The files were in her OneDrive, which belonged to her account. Recoverable in most cases, and preventable permanently by moving shared work into SharePoint where the business owns it.
Migration is a planned project with a cutover window, usually outside business hours. You will know beforehand what moves, what changes for your staff, and what to check afterwards.
Almost always an account without multi-factor authentication. Turning it on across the tenant is a short job, and it is the highest-value hour anybody spends on Microsoft 365.
A licence audit is quick. People who left, duplicate accounts, and the wrong tier for what the office actually does are all common, and all cost real money every month.
Many do. The eligibility paperwork and getting the tenant working afterwards is the part that stalls. SKTS helps qualifying organizations get there.
Group training for your team at your office — Microsoft 365 onboarding, shared files, calendars, and account security. One rate covers the room. Group classes & speaking.
Microsoft's licence fees are paid to Microsoft and are separate from anything below.
$135/hour — or $95/hour for managed clients. Most small-office setups and migrations are a few hours, and you get an estimate before the work starts.
$45 per device, per month as part of a managed IT plan, which includes day-to-day Microsoft 365 questions along with monitoring, antivirus, patching, and the help desk.
Many qualifying organizations can access discounted or free Microsoft 365 tiers. See non-profit services for how that works.
Yes. SKTS sets up, manages, and supports Microsoft 365 for small businesses and non-profits across Winchester, Frederick County, Clarke County and the Shenandoah Valley — including email migration, shared drives, calendar sharing, OneDrive and SharePoint, and security policies. Google Workspace as well, if that's what you're on.
That's the normal job. A migration gets planned before anything moves: what mailboxes exist, how much mail is in them, which aliases and forwards matter, and what the DNS cutover looks like. Mail keeps flowing during the move, and the old mailboxes stay in place until you've confirmed everything landed. You stay in control of the data throughout.
Project work such as a setup or a migration is $135 per hour, or $95 per hour for managed clients. If Microsoft 365 is part of a managed plan, day-to-day support is included in the $45 per device per month. Microsoft's own licence fees are paid to Microsoft and are separate.
Many qualifying non-profits can get discounted or free tiers. The hard part is usually the eligibility paperwork and getting the tenant set up correctly afterwards. SKTS helps non-profits and qualifying organizations access those tiers and get them working.
OneDrive is a person's own files. SharePoint is the shared drive the business owns, so the files stay with the company when somebody leaves. Getting that boundary right at setup is the difference between a tidy system and one where nobody can find last year's contract.
Yes, and it's a common call. A tenant that grew by accident usually has the same handful of issues: everything living in one person's OneDrive, no multi-factor authentication, licences assigned to people who left, and no idea who has admin. That's a review-and-tidy job rather than a rebuild.
Whichever one your people will actually use. If the office already lives in Word and Excel, Microsoft 365 is the shorter path. If everyone's comfortable in Gmail and Docs, moving them costs more in retraining than it saves. Both get set up and supported here, so there's no reason to push you one way.
Call during business hours and you hear back the same day, usually from Jerry. The work itself gets scheduled for the next available slot — though remote fixes often happen the same day when they fit.
$45 per device per month — monitoring, managed antivirus, patching, backup baseline, and the help desk, with Microsoft 365 support included.
Keeping the office working when the server, the internet, or the power goes down.
Microsoft 365 is not a backup. Getting a real backup plan in place is a separate, short conversation.
A short review will tell you who has admin, whether multi-factor authentication is on, which licences are being paid for and not used, and whether your shared files are actually shared. If it all looks healthy, you'll hear that. Call 540.303.2410.
