Your computer. Your kitchen table or office. Your pace. Your questions. Patient, no-jargon, no rush.
Some people learn best from a 10-minute video. Some learn best from an article. Some need to sit next to a real human with their own computer and ask “wait, what just happened?” If that last one's you, 1-on-1 tutoring with Jerry is what you want. We work on whatever's actually in front of you — the new laptop your kids gave you, the email account that keeps confusing you, the Word document you've been wrestling with, the Zoom calls with the grandkids that never go right.
Most folks have me come to them — your home, your home office, your business. You're more relaxed at your own kitchen table than in a classroom. Travel is included in Winchester, Frederick County, and the immediate area; longer drives are billed at travel time.
We work on YOUR machine, with YOUR email, YOUR files, YOUR printer. Skills you learn in a class on someone else's computer don't always carry over. Skills you learn on your own computer stick.
No curriculum I'm rushing through. We work on what you actually want to learn. If something earlier doesn't make sense yet, we slow down. If you've got it, we move on.
If your spouse or partner wants to learn the same thing, they can sit in at no extra charge. Two people learning together is often easier than one person trying to explain it later.
There's no fixed curriculum here. Some folks want a single session to learn one specific thing. Some want a few short sessions spread out so they can practice between visits. Some want a longer session with their spouse or partner sitting in so you both learn the same thing at the same time.
Before the first session, Jerry will ask a few questions: what you want to learn, what you've tried, how you like to learn (notes, repetition, hands-on practice, written cheat sheets to take home), and what's frustrated you in the past. From there, you and Jerry will work out a plan together that fits your learning style — not his.

If you want to try the free stuff first, the 19 microcourses in Skits' Classroom are a great place to start — 10 minutes each, no signup. Some folks do those first and then book tutoring to ask the questions the courses didn't answer. Either order works.
Call 540.303.2410 — we'll find a time that works, and Jerry will ask a few questions ahead of time so the session is focused on what you actually want to learn.
