This month, we're getting hands-on.
After 40+ years of fixing things, I can tell you: most hardware problems aren't hardware problems at all. They're setup problems. A printer that's "broken" just needs its queue cleared. WiFi that "doesn't work" has a router stuffed behind a filing cabinet. A sore neck after work? Your monitor's six inches too low.
This month, I'm walking you through the stuff I fix every single day — printers, routers, desk setups, and that big question: fix it or replace it? Most of these are 5-minute fixes. Some cost nothing.
And hey — the people who can fix it themselves were never going to call me anyway. But now they trust me. That's why we do this.

Scam Alert
Tax Season Phishing Is Spiking
|
|
Every April, scammers crank it up. Fake IRS emails, bogus refund texts, phone calls demanding immediate payment. Here's what you need to know: the IRS will never email you, text you, or call you demanding payment. Period. If you get a message with a link claiming to be from the IRS — delete it. Don't click, don't call the number in the message.
And it's not just taxes — travel scams spike in spring too. Too-good-to-be-true vacation deals, fake booking confirmations, wire transfer requests. If it feels off, it probably is.

The 99th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival!
April 24 – May 3 · “Keep Blooming Together”
|
|
It's almost here, Winchester! The carnival at Apple Blossom Mall, the Wine Fest, the 10K, Fiesta Latina, the parade — one of the best weeks of the year in the Shenandoah Valley. Tickets and full schedule at thebloom.com.
And don't forget First Friday on the Walking Mall earlier in the month — local artists, live music, shops open late. If you haven't done one this spring, April's a great one to start.
Quick tech tips for festival season:
| 📱 Charge to 100% before you head out |
| 📶 Turn off WiFi & Bluetooth to save battery and avoid public WiFi risks |
| 📷 Back up your photos first — full storage means missed shots of the parade |
Have a great time out there, neighbors. See you at the Bloom!
