Dead Hard Drive, What do you do?

Circuit board electronic dark computer background

There are only 2 things that can go wrong with a drive…either a logical issue or a physical issue.

A logical issue means that for some reason the data on the hard drive has become scrambled and is not currently readable.  There are things that we can do to the drive to attempt to make the data readable again.  There are more drastic things that we can do that will allow the drive to operate again, but with data loss.

A physical issue means that there is a hardware failure.  80% of all hard drives fail after 2 years.  There isn’t anything you or we can do.  However, there is a company that we have worked with called Crucial Data Recover that does data recovery for a fixed rate.

If you have any problems with your hard disk, feel free to give us a call.  We are more than happy to help you figure out what your best options are. 540.303.2410
